Grant Writing 101 for Postdocs & Graduate Students
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) and Graduate School invite postdocs and graduate students to learn about the process for successful proposal development.
As part of National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW), this workshop will focus on best practices for writing a quality grant proposal for potential funders. Jim Mazzouccolo, Proposal Editor & Writing Coach for the Research & Innovation Office (RIO), will discuss key steps, including reviewing funder guidelines and requirements, planning the project, writing, editing and proofreading. Jim will also share details about how to navigate the university process for submitting grants, which is overseen by the Office of Contracts & Grants (OCG).
Advance questions or suggestions for specific grant writing topics are welcome to opa@colorado.edu.
A Zoom link will be shared with those who register by clicking "I'm Interested" using their CU Boulder login credentials.

Very useful seminar. I look forward to more seminars or workshops focusing on grant writing.

I liked the workshop, it had a lot of good information and was very clear from the beginning. The speaker was also clear about how to approach the grant-writing process and the attitude we should adopt whilst writing it.
The one thing I would recommend is to provide us with either a summary of the main points or the slides before hand as that would give us time to, at least quickly, go through them and have questions ready. As it was, I struggled to take in all the information and then formulate well-thought-out questions.
Thanks!
