This workshop is a crash course in grant application procedures and best practices. It will be held in person in with a live streaming option. A grant will be assigned at the end of the workshop for those interested in the second workshop. 

Alison Pearks, the presenter for both workshops, is the Assistant Director of Research and Development for the College of Engineering, Design and Computing as the University of Colorado Denver. Alison has 15 years of research experience in comparative genetics and transgenic organisms and 11 years of manuscript and grant scientific editing. She has a 33% grant funding rate (the national average, for comparison, is less than 10%) and a 90% manuscript acceptance rate. She reviewed and submitted over 1100 proposals to federal, state, industry, and non-profit sponsors over an 8-year period. She is a Certified Research Administrator and a Board-certified editor in the life sciences.
