How a Union of Countries Influences Development: The European Union & the US

In his final EU Chat, István Székely will talk about how the European Union (EU) influences the economic, social and institutional development of its member states, and will compare the EU with the US. He will look into the different channels of interaction among countries, such as trade, investment, migration, finance, institutions and knowledge, and gauge how the EU influences the working of these channels. In assessing the EU’s impact, he will pay special attention to two super-dimensions of development: fairness and sustainability. Throughout the analysis, he will compare the EU with the US.
