The 1970s were high time for exploitation films — quick, cheap and offensive movies that played in bargain theaters to voracious cult audiences while meeting unhappy response amongst the mainstream set. Gene Siskel famously found this one to be “the most degenerate picture to play downtown." This was a Canadian film produced on a shoestring budget in what appears to be a backlot just off a major highway. At times, you can still hear traffic in the background of certain sequences. This one, which spawned 3 sequels is not for the faint of heart. It's really a mad scientist story with nudity. Very campy at times, but you can't help but watch it.
