Inclusive Communities of Practice Session: Groupwork Dynamics Using the Relationship Framework
Today's topic: Mindful, Inclusive Mentorship (building on our session from 9/23)
In our first mentorship session on September 23, we talked through some challenging mentoring scenarios with an implicit equity and inclusion lens (access here). In this follow up session, we will spend time on the “mindful” part of effective mentoring. How can we attend to equity and inclusion as a mentor? What does it mean for a mentor to be inclusive? We welcome participants from the first “mindful mentoring” session, but prior attendance is not required.
Faculty, staff, and students across our CU Boulder community who are interested in making excellence inclusive are invited to attend the following Inclusive Communities of Practice (ICoP) sessions, a collaboration between ODECE and the newly-formed campus Center for Teaching and Learning. ICoP sessions are:
90-minute meetings organized around a topic related to diversity, inclusion, equity, social justice, and human interaction.
Conversations are meant to be “brave spaces” where faculty, staff and students can talk honestly about areas of concern and practice techniques for making excellence inclusive in everyday lived experiences.
ICoP steering committee organizes topics and schedules local experts to help facilitate these sessions for our community.
