Yvaine Ye (science writer) and Casey Bauer (media relations manager) from the Office of Strategic Relations and Communications will give a brief session on their work, tips for talking with the media and issues management.

All INSTAARs welcome to open sessions
For Directorate meetings with open sessions, all INSTAARs are welcome to drop-in and observe. Some meetings or portions of meetings, however, will operate in ‘executive session’ (personnel discussions, etc.), where only voting members and ex-officio administrative staff will be present. 

What is the Directorate?
INSTAAR’s governing body is the Directorate.  Voting members, called Faculty Fellows, include tenured and tenure-track faculty who are co-rostered in academic departments, research faculty, and INSTAAR-based federal research scientists.  Non-voting members include key administrative staff and a representative each of professional research assistants, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. On the day before the meeting, we will aim to email a Zoom link to INSTAARs.

Zoom recording
We will try to post a recording of the open portion of the meeting (not the executive session) to INSTAAR Teams.  In Teams, select INSTAAR's channel for "Zoom recordings" and click the Files tab near the top center of the page.
