About this Event
4001 Discovery Dr., Boulder, CO 80309
#MENVGeotechnologies, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), web mapping, remote sensing, and GPS, have become essential tools for environmental scientists. Join Geographer and CU graduate Joseph Kerski as we spatially examine issues including population change, biodiversity loss, water quality and quantity, human health, energy, oceans, weather and climate, and more, using spatial thinking and these geotechnologies. We will use mobile crowdsource apps in the field to collect tree cover for the campus, perform spatial analysis in natural hazards studies for Boulder County, create multimedia interactive maps, and much more, using ArcGIS Online, Survey123, story maps, and other tools.
