Introduction to Zen Meditation

Interested in learning to meditate? Looking to unwind at the end of a busy day? Already have a practice and hoping to find others who share your passion for zazen? Wednesday, August 28th, from 5 to 6 pm in UMC 102, come learn about Zen. There will be a brief introduction to Zen Buddhism, a discussion about how to meditate, followed by 30 minutes of meditation, and then a brief discussion about the experience, followed by an optional 10-minute sitting.

Each Wednesday this semester, meditation will be led by Dr. Sigman Myoshin Byrd, senior instructor in the Program for Writing and Rhetoric, an 11-year zazen practitioner, member of the Eon Zen Center in Boulder, and student of Sensei Paul Gyodo Agostinelli. For more information or to reserve a spot, email Sigman (“Myoshin,”) at sigman.byrd@colorado.edu.
