About this Event
We are all adept at recognizing when conflict is afoot. But as a leader, do you know what to do with it?
In this session, Dr. Merna Jacobsen, associate vice chancellor and interim chief human resources officer, will provide an efficient and direct model for diagnosing and analyzing a conflict. She will then identify strategies for addressing different types of conflicts (yes, different types of conflicts require different strategies –one size does not fit all!). She will also discuss how to keep conflicts interest-based rather than positional and will provide the most powerful leadership language for doing so.
Participants should come with a conflict in mind to which workshop content can be applied. It can be a personal or professional conflict, one in which you are a participant or an observer, and between two people or involve a group. You will share this conflict with one other person in the session. Participants will leave this session with skills and strategies for making progress in conflicts that can be applied immediately upon completion of the workshop.
