Leo Hill Leadership Speaker Series: David Brooks

The Center for Leadership is pleased to be hosting David Brooks as the 2021 Leo Hill Leadership Speaker Series marquee speaker. David Brooks is chair of Weave: The Social Fabric Project at The Aspen Institute in Washington, DC.

Brooks joined the Aspen Institute in March 2018 to spearhead a bold new project aimed at bridging the differences that divide Americans and seeking out a compelling common ground. He is a New York Times columnist, a commentator on NPR and PBS NewsHour, and author of five books, including The Road to Character and The Second Mountain. @nytdavidbrooks @weavetheppl

In his presentation titled Leadership: Centering Relationships and Building Trust he will speak on the role of moral character and social responsibility in today’s very turbulent and chaotic world.  For far too long, Brooks says, successful leadership has been attributed to those who can do the most in the least time, generate the most revenue, and earn every promotion. How can ‘I’ be the best instead of how can ‘we’ move the needle. Today, our country needs more of the latter. A nation consumed with deep inequity, distrust, isolation and division can only be healed by leaders who build bridges, center connection, and deepen trust.
