The Earth Sciences & Map Library is hosting “Direct Encounters with Arctic Landscapes”, a panel discussion among scientists and artists, in conjunction with the “Sensing Ice” exhibition. Panelists will consider experiences of a rapidly changing region, the challenges of working in a demanding place, the draw that these regions may exert, and stories of adventure. Refreshments will be served.

Panelists:

  • Christopher Dunn, PhD in Environmental Studies and CU Boulder alum
  • Tasha Snow, post-doctoral fellow in the Glaciology center of the Colorado School of Mines and CU Boulder alum
  • Astrid Ogilvie, senior research associate, INSTAAR
  • Bradley Markle, assistant professor, Geological Sciences and INSTAAR
  • Kerry Koepping, founder of the Arctic Arts Project
  • Kelsey Simpkins, Science Writer & Beat Contact, Strategic Relations and Communications (Moderator)
