This workshop introduces participants to the “Shiny” Package, which allows users to make interactive web applications in R and Python. We will focus, in particular, on how to use Shiny to make interactive data dashboards in R, which can help you to communicate data-based analytic results and findings with a broad audience. We will:

• Explore the use of open source R packages to create engaging and interactive data dashboards that can summarize and distill your data, and allow you to communicate with diverse non-specialist audiences.
• Practice different data visualization and munging techniques relevant to the construction of interactive public facing dashboards.
• Understand the basic syntax and framework of the “Shiny” package.
• Explore options for deploying a dashboard to the public.

All are welcome, but the workshop presupposes elementary knowledge of R.
