Employee Management and Compliance Essentials is a blended course that provides managers and supervisors with a comprehensive overview of legal guidelines, campus policies, and CU Boulder practices related to employee management and development.

This course includes the instructor-led training (found under "upcoming sessions") as well as a self-paced course on canvas.

Learning Outcomes

  • Pre-employment essentials (position management, compensation, and recruitment).
  • Employee development guidelines and strategies (onboarding, performance management, and progressive discipline).
  • Special topics in employee management (federal and campus policies and procedures related to discrimination and harassment; the Americans with Disabilities Act; and the Family Medical Leave).

Who Should Attend
All supervisors and aspiring supervisors should attend this training. There is no cost to attend. 

Additional details
This training is 8 hours in total. In-person trainings are two 4-hour days, and virtual trainings are four 2-hour days. More details can be found on the registration page. There is no cost for this course.
