Microaggressions Session #3 – Addressing and Repairing Harm: An ICoP Community Meeting
Avondine Hill, Special Assistant to the Dean on Diversity and Inclusion in the Leeds School of Business, and Becca Ciancanelli, Inclusive Pedagogy Lead, are hosting a three-session series on investigating microaggressions in the classroom. In this final session, strategies for repairing harm will be discussed. Additionally, participants will start the process of creating a document regarding their work in these sessions to share with their unit or department.
Inclusive Community of Practice (ICoP) meetings connect equity-minded folks around campus to develop inclusive practices and policies in the classroom through sharing and curation of existing and collaboratively innovated knowledge. Weekly 75-minute meetings provide opportunities where faculty, staff and students gather to network and talk openly about diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. These conversations are meant to be brave spaces where faculty, staff and students can work on developing inclusive practices for the classroom.
