Every year students move out of the CU Boulder Residence Halls and cannot take everything with them. The Give & Go Donation Drive assists over 7,000 students during their residence hall departure. Move Out Donation Bins will be available in all campus residence halls and Bear Creek April 29 - May 10, 2019.

The Give & Go Donation Drive accepts:

  • Clothing
  • Bedding
  • Electronics
  • Fans
  • Lamps
  • Mirrors
  • Storage containers
  • Non-perishable food
  • Personal care products

And any other reusable items in usable condition.

In 2018, the Drive collected 44 tons of material donated and left behind by students. This year CU Recycling, Housing & Dining Service and Facilities Management are working with multiple non-profit organizations to collect and disperse the donated items to give them another life.

Volunteering for the drive is a great way to get involved with sustainability at CU Boulder for students, staff, and faculty.

Move Out volunteer responsibilities include:

  • Providing students and parents with direction on where to place donations and recycling
  • Separating and organize donations
  • Bagging donation items for transport
  • Assisting in moving full bags and bins to donation trucks

Volunteer shifts are 2 hours long. All volunteers will recieve a free t-shirt and snacks. Volunteers who sign up and complete 2 consecutive volunteer shifts (4 hours) will receive a free meal in the dining halls.
