If you are a supervisor, join us to celebrate minds of all kinds with a series of four virtual “Neurodiversity in the Workplace” Trainings! These trainings will highlight practical tools and knowledge for supervisors to better understand and support their neurodivergent employees. Not familiar with this term?  Neurodiversity is a term used to acknowledge the natural differences in the brain function and behavioral traits among humans. Not sure if you have neurodiverse employees?  Odds are you do, with 15-20% of the world’s population identifying as neurodiverse and these sessions will underscore the importance of creating an inclusive and equitable workplace where everyone can thrive.

We aim to raise awareness, ensure compliance with employee workplace accommodations, build effective leadership skills and enhance productivity. These trainings will be facilitated by DIRT (Divergent Inclusive Representation Transforms) Coffee, a nonprofit social enterprise that “creates innovation human-centered workspaces and programs that promote disability justice and economic equity.”

We highly encourage attendance for ALL FOUR sessions as each session will focus on a different aspect of neurodiversity:

  • Neurodiversity 101: Introduction to the Neurodiversity Movement and its relevance to organizational settings.
  • Empowering Neurodiverse Teams: Understanding neurodiversity language and how it applies to your team.
  • Leading and Managing Neurodiverse Teams Part 1: Strategies for cultivating and managing a neurodiverse team.
  • Leading and Managing Neurodiverse Teams Part 2: Deepening inclusion and navigating supervisory relationships.

Sign up today to learn practical ways to lead with inclusion and support neurodiverse talent!

Do you still need some convincing? Haruko Greeson attended the Spring Session and mentioned it “provided great insight into neurodiversity. One of the most impactful activities was the ‘Fold Your Paper’ exercise as this reinforced the importance of clear, collaborative communication between supervisors and staff. Rather than simply ‘assigning’ tasks, it is crucial to work together in a way that fosters understanding and comfort.”

Dates and Times: Sessions will be mainly on Mondays with Kick-Off on Wednesday from 1:00pm – 2:15pm (MT) via Zoom. Registration is required.

  • Wednesday, October 8 – 1:00pm – 2:15pm
  • Monday, October 20 – 1:00pm – 2:15pm
  • Monday, November 3 – 1:00pm – 2:15pm

Organized by the Alliance for Neurodiversity (AND) employee affinity group and funded by the Arts & Sciences Dean’s Innovation Award and the Impact Grant .
