One Year After Hurricane María: La Lucha del Pueblo Puertorriqueño

Join us in commemorating the one year anniversary of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, with a focus on the role of education and activism over the past year. The purpose of this event is to highlight the continued effects of Hurricane Maria on the island of Puerto Rico, as well as how those effects have extended beyond the island to those who were forced to move to the mainland US as a result of the disaster. This event will not exclusively discuss the negative effects of Maria, but more importantly will highlight the strength of the Puerto Rican people to unify, protest, and maintain hope in the face of difficult odds.

The event is sponsored by the School of Education, BUENO Center and the Natural Hazards Center.
