ICS Colloquium: Dr. Susan Chipman, Former Federal Manager of Cognitive Science Research, Department of Psychology, CU Denver

Title: What became of research on artificially intelligent tutoring? A retrospective review

Presenter: Retired Federal Manager of Cognitive Science Research, Department of Psychology, CU Denver

Abstract: One day before the pandemic struck, Clayton Lewis asked me that question.   I was shocked.  He should have known.   This talk was prepared to answer that question.   This has been a successful research program, to which many people contributed as managers and researchers over a long period of time.   It has been a major area of accomplishment for Cognitive Science with much potential for contributing to society.   The talk will conclude by discussing a variety of entrepreneurial opportunities to bring that potential into reality, as well as the practical obstacles that must be overcome.
