In celebration of the highly respected Oscar-winning film director, Robert Zemeckis, we will be showcasing his work over five screenings. A filmmaker who has been behind some of Hollywood's most legendary films, Zemeckis is known for a whimsical style with off-beat characters. After seeing Bonnie and Clyde with his father, Zemeckis decided that he wanted to go to film school. His parents disapproved of the idea, Zemeckis later said, "But only in the sense that they were concerned... for my family and my friends and the world that I grew up in, this was the kind of dream that really was impossible. My parents would sit there and say, 'Don't you see where you come from? You can't be a movie director.' I guess maybe some of it I felt I had to do in spite of them, too."

During this retrospective, we will be showcasing some of his best work. Here are the specific titles and dates:

Thursday, April 25th at 7:00pm - BACK TO BACK TO BACK TO THE FUTURE - Here we are combing the BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy into one seamless presentation. Arguably the most recongizable of Zemeckis' films, we can't think of a better place to start.

Friday, April 26th at 7:30pm - DEATH BECOMES HER - The first of two criminally underrated films being showcased, this one stars Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep as two frenemies in a constant back-and-forth over a husband (played by Bruce Willis) and the inevitability of time. It's funnier than that sounds, I promise!

Saturday, April 27th at 7:30pm - CAST AWAY - Tom Hanks worked with Zemeckis numerous times, starting with FORREST GUMP and following by CAST AWAY. Here Hanks plays a lone survivor of a plane crash who must contend with nature and his own mental stability as he is left alone on a deserted island.

Sunday, April 28th at 2:00pm - CONTACT - Starring Jodi Foster as an astronomer who discovers a hidden alien message being sent to Earth, this film is another of Zemeckis' underrated classics. It deals with topics of technology, religion, and existentialism.

Monday, April 29th at 7:30pm - WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT (on 35mm film!) - A crowning achievement in both story-telling and mind-melting visual effects, Zemeckis seemlessly blends hand-drawn animation with live action in a way that still feels authentic.
