San Luis workshops shed new light on Latino history
San Luis teachers are invited to register for a free two-day workshop that will focus on the essential role that Latino history played in Trinidad from their earliest days to the present. The workshop, sponsored by the Boulder-based Latino History Project, University of Colorado Boulder and Trinidad community leaders, is part of a collaborative, grassroots initiative that is making Colorado's Latino history and culture more accessible and visible.
The Latino History Project and CU Boulder faculty and students have been working with the Fort Garland Museum, Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area and Adams State University to gather information about Latino history and heritage in the San Luis Valley, and have shared these primary resources on the project’s website.
