Stan Brakhage and the Art of Life
In this talk, John Powers will discuss Stan Brakhage’s integration of filmmaking with his daily life. Drawing on research conducted for his in-progress biography of the trailblazing filmmaker (and Boulder legend!), Powers will outline Brakhage’s evolving relationship with his own artistic practice, which was intimately connected to his daily living. Powers will illustrate his talk with a selection of 16mm film prints from CU’s collection.
