https://www.colorado.edu/fiske/showtimes/live-talks/science-and-societyThroughout history, humans have found new anchors of meaning and ways to measure the lives they have lived. The industrial revolution and capitalism helped create a system where people learned to value their lives and themselves based on the work they do. However, companies have been trying to automate that very work, to improve efficiencies and to remove the Human Element with all its imperfections. And now, we find ourselves in “The Age of Artificial Intelligence”. We have AI that can converse and train children and humans, AI that can drive autonomous vehicles in the air, on land and underwater; and finally AI that can create Art. Join us to discuss possible futures, where humans are no longer needed to create things of value – within any economic system. Let’s explore what it might mean to be human in a world without work?
