About this Event
The Merida located in the Yucatan Peninsula boasts a rich tapestry of biodiversity and cultural heritage, with Meliponas, or indigenous stingless bees, playing a central role in Mayan traditions and ecosystem dynamics.
This film explores the cultural significance of Meliponas within indigenous communities, including traditional knowledge, rituals, and practices associated with beekeeping and the importance of reciprocity.
The film will last about nine minutes, after which participants will be able to ask questions/speak with the film's director, CU Boulder alum Gabby Mejia. This event is hosted by the Office for Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.
