About this Event
These sessions will use an asset-based mentoring framework to guide training. Asset-based mentoring focuses on recognizing and strengthening students’ existing knowledge, skills, cultural backgrounds and community resources. For example, rather than assuming students have gaps that must be filled, asset-based mentoring identifies what they already bring to the table and builds on those strengths to support their success.
All three training sessions are required. Please confirm your participation in each session below. Although the Zoom form may allow you to select fewer than three, attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Session 1: The SMART Program: Goals and Expectations of a SMART Mentor Session 2: Mentoring, Coaching, and Advising Session 3: Wants, Needs, and Communication Structures
