About the Event

Part-reflection, part-documentation, part-histories living, smokepoint(s) is a multilayered movement exploration utilizing B2's large format projection and sound system. It is a celebration and acceptance of the spaces inbetween and of possibilities unraveling in the pursuit of finding home within oneself.

About the Artist

James Hoang Nguyen (he/him) is a Vietnamese American interdisciplinary artist and educator whose practice is informed by cultural heritage and tradition. His interests lie in the cyclical nature of processes as it relates to a recontextualization of connection to culture and identity. By engaging in cross-cultural dialogues, he hopes to explore concepts surrounding individual identity & collective narrative through multisensory and mixed modes of expression in art, media, and emergent technology.
