My son was left out of this ceremony. He turned in forms late, called to inquire, and was told there was "no problem". Relatives from 3 time zones tuned in to see no mention of his name. As a single parent, every spare penny that not only I made, but also the income my son has garnered WORKING FOR THE UNIVERSITY has gone into his 5 years there. It was a monumental event that made me as a parent, and my son (a twice published scholar on your campus) forgotten, devalued, and heartbroken. I may also add, my son was the FIRST college grad on his biological father's side. Shame on you and your department.
