Statistics in R

This 2 hour workshop is an introduction to statistics in R and is the third of a 4-part Spring 2018 semester R workshop series. We will use the same dataset used in the first workshops to decide on appropriate relationships to examine. We will learn how to implement commonly used basic statistical tests (Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test and simple linear regression), and visualize and interpret the results. Finally, we will check the basic underlying assumptions of these tests. The last half hour of the workshop is dedicated to working with your own data using these skills.

Prerequisites: Minimal coding experience necessary (review the IntroR.mov and Intro_R.R files on our OSF site if you need some review), and need to have R and RStudio installed and the ‘stats_R.R’ R script downloaded from our OSF site (https://osf.io/6jb9t/). All participants need to bring a laptop and option to bring your own data.
