About this Event
Apply to participate in a two-day workshop to learn, to brainstorm, and to practice in a crossdisciplinary context about major sustainability education topics. Share ideas and opportunities to integrate sustainability research into the university’s diverse curriculum, including fine-tuning a micro credential, certificate, internship or study abroad experience, as well as course development from qualitative to quantitative methods, from short in-class exercises to semester-long projects, including peer experts from the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. The training will include:
- Learning/refreshing our understanding of sustainability’s key core concepts (environment, equity, & economics) as foundational to our common curriculum.
- Discussing how to navigate difficult conversations in the classroom. • Hearing inspiration from and networking with CU Boulder faculty who have successfully integrated sustainability research into their classroom exercises, lesson plans, assignments, and curricular planning.
- Brainstorming your ideas on integrating sustainability challenges and/or solutions into your teaching and curricular planning.
- Touring campus to deepen your understanding of the place where we work, including reflecting on the sustainability of operations on campus, the species with whom we live every day, and the ways we can reimagine our campus as a living learning lab.
- Gaining access to a digital toolbox of sustainability-related lesson teaching resources.
