Sustainable Real Estate

“Social Equity, Real Estate Development and the Role of the Private Sector” Symposium

The moment has come to challenge the way traditional real estate development occurs in this country and, particularly, in Denver. Who gains, who loses – and why should we care? How does race, gender, and household income influence what we build and where we build it? Is gentrification a signal of progress or failure? How can residents and business owners in lower-income communities generate wealth as private capital flow into their neighborhoods? How do we invest in business owners and not just bricks and mortar? Join us for a discussion on the tradeoffs and opportunities involved with creating a genuinely inclusive city with several of Denver’s prominent private sector “social equity” developers.

Join us for this highly anticipated symposium at our Boulder campus with Sue Powers, President of Development, Urban Ventures, LLC and a panel of speakers including:

  • Susan Powers, President, Urban Ventures
  • Fiona Arnold, President, Mainspring
  • Albus Brooks, Executive, Milender White
  • Renee Martinez-Stone, Director, The West Denver Renaissance Collaborative
  • Lori Pace, Keynote speaker and Realtor
  • Moderator - Shannon Cox Baker
