The Department of English will be offering a total of four (4) $500 travel grants to graduate students in the spring 2019 semester.The application period for the first two (2) of these grants is from Thursday, Dec. 6th – Monday, De-cember 18th. The application period for the second two grants will be announced later in the spring term.Travel grants can be used to support students who are presenting at professional conferences in their field of study. Grant funds may be used to for conference registration fees, airfare, or hotel accommoda-tions.

ROUND ONE Applications are due by 3:00pm on December 18th.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Two (2) grants of up to $500 each will be awarded.
 The conference and travel must take place by June 30, 2019. MAs, MFAs, and PHDs are eligible to apply.
 Students must be enrolled full-time and be in good academic standing to qualify for a grant.
 Only students who do not have existing fellowship money that they can use for conference travel are eligible to apply.
 Funds will be distributed as a reimbursement to recipients’ Bursar’s account AFTER the conference travel is complete. You must submit receipts itemizing your expenses up to the $500.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 PROPOSAL: In one page, explain the conference and your paper. Include the dates you will be attend-ing the conference.
 BUDGET: Submit a budget of proposed expenses on a separate page.
 SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION: You must present proof that your paper has been accepted at the conference (an email from the conference organizers will suffice).
