On a predominantly white campus, students of color undergo a culture shock. Around 10 years ago, Sigma Psi Zeta sister Marcie “nadeGe” Lee #23 created a show to celebrate and highlight the different cultures on our campus as an outlet for communities of color to feel embraced in who they are and find solidarity in a supportive, inclusive community. The show brings an educational experience through an environment where the audience can be submerged in cultures found within the community and allows for the exploration of new cultures in a comfortable way.

The SYZsters of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority Inc. and the sisters of Pi Lambda Chi Sorority Inc. present our annual Culture Shock show in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m.

The show will feature student performances from organizations on campus and in Boulder including the Elevations Kpop dance ground and the Colorado Bhangra Team. Next will feature strolls (rhythmic dances originating in African tradiations) from the Multicultural Greek Organizations here on campus. Closing out our night will be headlining performances from pop duo Sundial and songwriter, singer and rapper Justin Park.
