The Brakhage Center presents a remembrance of Tomonari Nishikawa (1969-2025) screening of several of his 16MM films.

Nishikawa’s films, primarily shot on Super-8 and 16mm, are celebrated for their textured beauty, rhythmic precision, and masterful in-camera editing. His films screened at major festivals including Berlinale, Rotterdam, and the New York Film Festival, and were exhibited at MoMA PS1 and the Museum of Contemporary Cinema in Spain. At the time of his passing, he was a beloved professor in the Cinema Department at Binghamton University.
