DESCRIPTION:In response to the growing emphasis on open and reproducible re
 search in the applied research community\, developers have published a vari
 ety of useful tools and packages that facilitate reproducibility and transp
 arent communication in research that uses the R programming language. This 
 workshop offers a hands-on tour of the reproducible and open research ecosy
 stem in R. Topics covered include project-based workflows\, literate progra
 mming with Quarto\, and the renv package for managing package versions and 
 dependencies. Participants will become acquainted with the general landscap
 e of reproducibility tools in R\, and gain practice in using some of these 
 tools to make their own work more transparent and reproducible. All are wel
 come\, but the workshop presupposes elementary prior knowledge of the R pro
 gramming language and familiarity with R Studio.
