Michael Lipkin, a Visiting Professor of German Studies, Hamilton College and Anastasiya Osipova, Assistant Professor at GSLL, CU Boulder, will discuss their translation philosophy and detail the theoretical as well as practical aspects of establishing oneself as a translator. The translation seminar is intended for all faculty and students interested in the theory as well as practice of literary translation. Anastasiya Osipova is an active practicing translator from Russian and Ukrainian and an Editor-in-Chief at Cicada Press. Michael Lipkin is an accomplished literary translator. His translation of Walter Kempowski’s Tadellöser & Wolff is forthcoming with New York Review of Books Classics in 2022. The event is sponsored by the Center for Humanities & the Arts and the Department of Germanic & Slavic Languages and Literatures at CU Boulder.
