My practice is built around the philosophy of treating others the way I would want to be treated if the roles were reversed. Many lawyers direct their clients rather than listening to them, do not objectively present the positives and negatives of various alternatives and choices, and don't communicate well about fees and objectives. Other attorneys are simply not adequately trained and experienced in these complex areas of practice, or do things that later become the subject of lawyer jokes, or both. My goal is to be human, fair, thoughtful, and reasonable about the best and most cost-efficient alternatives for my clients. Cookie cutter approaches or things that tend to create higher fees for the attorney are often not the best result for many clients, even if they are trendy. Customization is very important. This is not every attorney's approach and certainly doesn't yield the highest profits, but it's an approach that is always appreciated by clients, will never go out of style, and will sustain a law practice for a long, long time.
