Using Canvas to Maximize Student Engagement and Collaboration

This 1.5 hour workshop is for instructors who would like to maximize student engagement and collaboration in their courses. You will learn about the Announcements, Groups, Discussions, Collaborations, Calendar, Inbox, Chat, and conditional release tools in Canvas. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Create and manage groups, announcements, and discussions
  • Encourage and monitor student participation using announcements, discussions, groups, and collaborations
  • Communicate with students using Conversations (Inbox) and Chat features
  • Create and coordinate events and appointment sign-ups in Calendar
  • Conditionally release content and assignments
