Visiting Artist Lecture: Tuan Andrew Nguyen

The Art & Art History's Visiting Artists and Scholars Program will present a lecture by Tuan Andrew Nguyen.

The multimedia artist Tuan Andrew Nguyen has spent his life navigating the gulf between his home culture and his adopted culture. Born in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen left Vietnam when he was only two years old. As an artist who teases out hidden and complex connections in everyday life, Nguyen often works collaboratively and with appropriated materials. He is a member of the artist collective The Propeller Group and a co-founder of the artist-run alternative space Sàn Art. His work often deals with the cultural estrangement of expatriation and the experience of returning home to an unfamiliar place.

Tuesday, April 9 at 6:30pm to 7:45pm
