Students are invited to explore the roles of social media, political ideology and the role they play in the upcoming election.

 

Join moderated panel discussions with Leah Sprain, associate professor, College of Media, Communication and Information, and director, Center for Communication and Democratic Engagement; and Janet Donavan, director of undergraduate studies and teaching professor, Department of Political Science.

 

  • Panel 1: What role does and should social media play in this election?  Panelists: Alex Siegel (Political Science), Sandra Ristovska (Media Studies), Tony Hopp (Advertising, Public Relations, and Design)  
  • Panel 2: What role does and should political ideology play in this election?  Panelists: Patrick Deneen (Benson Center), Michaele Ferguson (Political Science), Chuck Plunkett (CU News Corp) 
  • Panel 3: What roles do and should CU students play in this election?  Panelists: Cody Walizer (Communication), Molly Fitzpatrick (Boulder County Clerk and Recorder, CU-Alum) 

 

Attendees can also register to vote, learn about voting rights, speak with election experts and watch the vice presidential debate.
