The Natural Hazards Center (NHC)—with support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Science Foundation (NSF)—recently issued a special call for proposals focused on conducting studies designed to Strengthen Community Resilience in the U.S. Territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This webinar will showcase the results from the 11 projects that were ultimately funded and highlight the research teams' final reports.

The first 20 minutes of the webinar will be dedicated to an overview of the special call for proposals and the funded research projects. Participants will then be invited to join one of three breakout rooms where they can learn about the funded projects in greater depth. These breakout rooms will focus on the following topics:

  • Panel One: Community-Based Approaches to Recovery and Resilience
  • Panel Two: Impact of Infrastructure and Service Disruptions on Health and Livelihoods
  • Panel Three: Tools to Strengthen Community Resilience

A detailed schedule of the webinar can be found here. We hope you will join us!
