About this Event
Utilizing self-reflection exercises and small and large group discussion, the authors of “We’re Not OK: Black Faculty Experiences and Higher Education Strategies” along with workshop participants will examine real-world narratives from Black faculty. Attendees will gain an understanding of what tokenism, microaggressions, code switching, and imposter syndrome are as well as their impact on mental health. Participants will leave with practical strategies to improve their own mental health and promote the mental wellness of those around them.
This workshop is sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences' Office for JEDI, Be Well, the Integrative Physiology department, the division of Social Sciences, the Center for Humanities & the Arts, the Center for African & African American Studies, and the Center for Teaching & Learning.
