Writing Your Academic Job Application Statements

On the market, but overwhelmed by all the application materials you need to generate? This 90-minute session will help guide you through writing the academic job packet, including the cover letter, research, teaching, and diversity statements. Receive general advice about formatting and drafting these documents as well as what you need to know to tailor them to a specific institution or posting. We will also cover the post-doc application, including how to frame your research experience for a specific post-doc project, what to leave out of your job letter, and how to present yourself as a candidate.

The content was useful and the presenter was enthusiastic. But 90% of it I've read in a book (or could read). It would be more effective to have workshop where we bring drafts of the various parts and review a partner's, then discuss general feedback in the big group.
