Mary Rippon Theatre

The Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre was built to commemorate Mary Rippon, one of the first women to attain faculty status at an American university, who began teaching during CU's second semester in 1878. The theatre hosts many performances throughout the year, and lead to the establishment of the well-known and critically acclaimed Colorado Shakespeare Festival in 1958.
