Sep 10 - Bookmarks & Silent Book Club: Settle in for a cozy evening at the museum! Make your own bookmark, then settle in for 45 minutes of quiet reading with other book lovers. Bring a book, e-book, or audiobook, and stay afterward to share recommendations and chat.

Oct 8 - Spooky Felt Stitch: Get crafty with a spooky twist! Make your own felt-stitch creation inspired by ghosts, bats, and other Halloween favorites. No crafting experience necessary. Just pick a project and have some fun.

November 5 - Art Night: Bring your creativity and make some art! Sketch, color, watercolor, doodle, or try something completely your own. We may also have a student-led guided exercise inspired by the museum’s botanical collections. Come create, experiment, and hang out.

December 3 - Silent Disco (& Hot Cocoa): Need a little fun before finals? Grab some hot cocoa, put on a pair of headphones, and dance your way through the museum. Come for the music, stay for the cocoa, or just hang out and enjoy a fun night with friends.

It is one of the least well-known aspects of the Roman period that there was a strong presence in the western Indian Ocean, with Roman coins and amphorae turning up in the Red Sea, the Gulf and in India itself.

About the speaker: Professor Derek Kennet is the Howard E. Hallengren Professor in Arabian Peninsula and Gulf States Archaeology at the University of Chicago. He is an archaeologist who works on the Arabian Peninsula and surrounding regions. Dr. Kennet approaches the peninsula from a number of different perspectives, such as: longue durée regional archaeology; the archaeology of the Late Antique period, the rise of Islam, and the Islamic periods; human economic strategies in semi- to hyper-arid environments; and interaction between the Arabian Peninsula and surrounding regions/empires/economies, including the Sasanians.

Event is free and open to the campus and community. Seating is limited. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Parking is generally aviailable at Euclid Auto park and Limelight Hotel.

This 45‑minute session is designed to wake you up, ground your body, and lift your spirits—an energizing way to start your day! All levels welcome. There are a limited number of mats available to borrow or bring your own. Comfortable clothing recommended.

Museum After Hours is series of monthly drop-in events for CU Boulder students featuring snacks, games, DIY crafts, books, films, and other special activities. Come explore, hang out, try something new, or just enjoy a relaxed evening with Museum Buffs. Bring a friend, or come as you are and meet someone new! Free for students. Space is limited for some activities. Bring your BuffOne card.

Sep 10 - Bookmarks & Silent Book Club: Settle in for a cozy evening at the museum! Make your own bookmark, then settle in for 45 minutes of quiet reading with other book lovers. Bring a book, e-book, or audiobook, and stay afterward to share recommendations and chat.

Oct 8 - Spooky Felt Stitch: Get crafty with a spooky twist! Make your own felt-stitch creation inspired by ghosts, bats, and other Halloween favorites. No crafting experience necessary. Just pick a project and have some fun.

November 5 - Art Night: Bring your creativity and make some art! Sketch, color, watercolor, doodle, or try something completely your own. We may also have a student-led guided exercise inspired by the museum’s botanical collections. Come create, experiment, and hang out.

December 3 - Silent Disco (& Hot Cocoa): Need a little fun before finals? Grab some hot cocoa, put on a pair of headphones, and dance your way through the museum. Come for the music, stay for the cocoa, or just hang out and enjoy a fun night with friends.
